Definition

A trust described in ERISA section 4049 as in effect on April 7, 1986: trusts for terminated single-employer pension plans, which the Single-Employer Pension Plan Amendments Act of 1986 created along with this paragraph.[1] The Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987 repealed section 4049 for plan terminations noticed or started after December 17, 1987,[2] but paragraph (24) remains in section 501(c), still pointing to section 4049 as it stood in 1986.
